IMPORTANT NEWS!

In mid-2021 Manifest made a major step forward in our organization's history, purchasing a facility located between the dynamic Cincinnati communities of Clifton and Camp Washington that will become the permanent headquarters of all our nonprofit programming over the next three years. During the past several months our staff and board have worked to prepare for the initial phase of our relocation. The Manifest Drawing Center programs will move to the new facility (M1) at 3464 Central Parkway in their entirety by July 1, 2022. Some programs will begin transitioning sooner, with timeframes to be announced. We believe that it will be clear to visitors and our students just how the beautiful and historic French Normandy style structure will enable Manifest to become a sanctuary for the practice, learning, and experience of the visual arts.  (LEARN MORE ABOUT M1 and the future MANIFEST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS HERE).

REGARDING COVID-19

While we work to ensure that all studio-based events can be held safely (allowing for proper social distancing, requiring masks for all participants, heightened cleaning procedures, etc.), some of our programs now offer the option of online OR in-person learning formats. More in-person Open Life Drawing seats have been added, with registration open up to 3 hours before each session starts. Our general mask policy at M1 will be that masks will be strongly encouraged, but optional. This is subject to change based on conditions and guidance from authorities, and may vary based on the course offering.

Open Photography Lab Sessions
Sunday-Thursday, weekly*; 6-10pm
Weekly uninstructed access to our analog darkroom and film processing facilities. Walk-ins welcome. Student discounts available. Each Lab session will be limited to two participants per session. Preregistration is required at least 24-hours in advance.

 The Painted Subject Series
The Narrative: Character, Context, and Communication
Saturdays, 1:30-4:30pm
May 7–28
A 5-part, transitional PAINTING series - offered every other month via 4-week classes - probing the realities and implications of some of Art History’s greatest subject-matter themes. Ideal for those transitioning from the beginning to intermediate levels.

Darkroom (Re)fresher*
Sundays, 4:30-5:30pm
Review of safety procedures, basic work flow, darkroom guidelines, and the cleaning responsibilities of everyone using the photo facilities.

The ENVISION PROJECT 6
Wednesdays and Saturdays

A FREE 14-week PHOTOGRAPHY program open to all Greater Cincinnati high school students exploring
visual storytelling through film and darkroom photography, in partnership with the Ohio Arts Council, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and WordPlay Cincy.
