ABOUT OUR PROGRAM WHY DRAW? OUR INSTRUCTORS STUDIO CALENDAR DARKROOM CALENDAR

ALL PROGRAMS ARE NOW AT M1
(3464 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45223)
Please bear with us as we update relevant info on course pages and website.
A full new season of programming (our 19th!) starts in September!

In mid-2021 Manifest made a major step forward in our organization's history, purchasing a facility located between the dynamic Cincinnati communities of Clifton, Northside, and Camp Washington that will become the permanent headquarters of all our nonprofit programming over the next three years. As of June 2022 the Manifest Drawing Center programs have relocated to the new facility (M1) in their entirety. We believe that it will be clear to visitors, our instructors and students just how our beautiful and historic French Normandy style structure and its grounds will enable Manifest to serve as an important sanctuary for the practice, learning, and experience of the visual arts.

UPCOMING SPECIAL VISITING ARTIST MASTER CLASS

Wet Plate Collodion and the Handmade Photograph
with Wet Plate Master, Joshua White

NOVEMBER 5th & 6th

Discounts for early registration by September 30th!

Using traditional and experimental methods over the course of two days, students will have the opportunity to investigate the possibilities of the handmade photograph, the poetics of place, and the photograph as object. Participants will create 4x5 and 8x10 plates using natural light and studio strobes, while surveying such topics as: the history of the photographic medium; using the view camera; creating tintypes and ambrotypes; and the possibilities of natural and studio lighting, and much more.

Originally from southeastern Indiana, Joshua White received a BFA in Photography from Northern Kentucky University, and an MFA in Photography from Arizona State University. He is now an Associate Professor of Photography and the Fine Art Photography Coordinator at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. White's work has been published in National Geographic, and featured by Wired, Mother Nature Network, Scientific American, Don’t Take Pictures, The Hand, and Gizmodo. His exhibition record includes numerous solo exhibitions across the US, as well as many national and international juried exhibitions.
