Description:
Open to the public!
Join Visiting Artist Joseph Crone for an in-depth  drawing demonstration. Referencing film noir, Joseph’s photorealistic drawings evoke a sense of mystery and a story yet to be told. Follow him on this path as he shares every step of his process, from material selection to composing atmospheric scenes, completing a drawing over the course of the evening.

Joseph will draw for approximately 3 hours with a brief wine/refreshment intermission, and conclude with a short discussion session. Seating will be provided, and will be on a first-come first-served basis. Observers are welcome to come and go quietly throughout the evening’s demonstration.

LOCATION: All courses are hosted at Manifest's Drawing Center Studios in Madisonville at 4905 Whetsel Avenue (second floor) (see map and direction links below). Manifest's studio facility provides two classrooms totalling nearly 4000 square-feet. The studios are outfitted with professional equipment, furniture, a photographic darkroom and processing room, and study aids.

About the Artist:

After building a solid foundation at the Ringling School of Art and Design, Joseph Crone graduated from the Herron School of Art and Design in the summer of 2010 with a BFA in General Fine Arts, focusing on rendering the human figure through drawing and printmaking. While his attention to visual detail through drawing is in a constant state of evolution, the development of cinematic storytelling is his current focal point.

His work has also been awarded with Grand Prize for the Shades of Gray competition by American Artist Drawing magazine, Best in Show by Artist Portfolio, and First Place for the “Classic” competition by BLUECANVAS magazine. Featured work and articles can also be found in publications such as International Artist Magazine, American Artist Magazine, The Artist’s Magazine, and Manifest's own International Drawing Annual to name a few. Crone currently works and resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with gallery representation through Lovett’s Gallery inf Tulsa, Oklahoma.
