statement

My drawings and paintings are represented narrative segments that explore the dark recesses of the human tendency through the juxtaposition of reality and the marvelous. The applied narrative that my paintings and drawings provoke is inspired by the connection between reality, and on the other side of an individual's consciousness: the fantasy or wish fulfillment. Each of the figures that I portray is represented within a state of inbetween-ness. The represented characters portrayed in my work exist between grounded reality and the fantasy the portrayed wish to become, or fear of becoming.
