Cast Drawing is an intensive 5-day drawing workshop where students will learn how to construct an accurate cast drawing, how to believably model simple and complex forms within their appropriate context, and how to finish a drawing.
Drawing from the plaster cast is one of the best methods to learn to sharpen one's eye, to learn to be efficient in the development of a drawing, and to learn to create the illusion of 3-dimensions on a 2-dimensional surface. At the end of the course, each student will have taken at least part of his/her drawing—if not the entire drawing—through every step of the finishing process.
In addition to concentrated, individual instruction, demonstrations will be given throughout the workshop to help illustrate many of the concepts and techniques necessary for the project.
