OBJECT DRAWING

Object Drawing is a five-week sequential course providing guided instruction in drawing from objects (aka. still-life).  The course is structured to serve a wide range of skill-sets on an individual basis.

Lessons will focus on drawing in black and white media in order to emphasize problems of structure, light and shadow, as well as composition.

Through the five week process students will gain, or reinforce, a clear undestanding of the role of the basic principles of drawing relative to working from observation.

If learning to draw is learning to see, then this class, like all Manifest offerings, will open a window into the world for seeing everything in new ways.

 

 

COST: $125

Tuition covers the complete five-week course. Materials and supplies are not provided.  Tuition is non-refundable except in the event of complete course cancellation.

LEVEL OF STUDY: This course is designed to match the needs of anyone wanting to explore object drawing. The instructor will address the limitations and advanced needs of each student on an individual basis. As with all Manifest coruses, this is an ideal opportunity for eager high school students to improve pre-college skills and develop portfolio materials, for college students wanting more instruction and opportunity to study drawing in an exceptional studio in order to complement their work towards a degree, and for professionals who simply want to push their discipline farther.

TERM: Course term runs for five weeks. One make-up day can be scheduled by Manifest to cover meeting cancellation.

NEW LOCATION!: Hosted at Manifest's Drawing Center Studios in Madisonville at 4905 Whetsel Avenue (second floor) (see map and directions below). Manifest's new studio facility provides two classrooms totalling 3000+ square-feet. The studios are outfitted with professional equipment, furniture, and study aids.
