Life Drawing is a ten-week sequential course providing guided instruction in drawing from the live human figure.  The course is structured to serve a wide range of skill-sets on an individual basis.

Life Drawing is the backbone of understanding how to depict the world. The rhythms and energy of the body could not be more personal, timeless, or evocative as catalysts for art making. Skills developed in the practice of figure drawing are broadly applicable to many visual art practices. Therefore this Manifest offering will benefit the seasoned veteran alongside the advanced high-school student, or college art major, as they all seek expertise in this age-old practice.

In this class we will address the figure as something familiar. Students will be given exercises that will allow them to see and feel more clearly. Most time will be spent drawing from living breathing people.

Emphasis will be placed on individual progress in a positive environment. This class is about rigorous learning. The instructor will give demonstrations and there may be occasional lectures. The main goal of this class is for the student to become more practiced at establishing a direct connection between the eye, hand and heart while developing skill in depicting the human form through various drawing approaches.
