Color brings the artist into full engagement with the spectrum of visual tools at their disposal. With line, value, texture, and shape at our disposal the work is still at least one-step removed from our ordinary visual experience. A study of color expands the potential for image-making exponentially, revealing both avenues for fantastic exploration, sensitive response, and opportunities for plenty of challenges. This class will cover color theory and technique basics as well as approaches to experimenting with and using color to achieve a controlled, successful result.
