Fee: $20

Class Size:
Minimum: 3

Description: Take the terror (and error) out of transporting your artwork. Learn how to properly wrap, pack, and ship your creations. Find out what professional galleries love (and hate) to unpack. We’ll discuss options for packing and shipping 2-D and 3-D objects, as well as time-based productions.

This workshop will cover:

  • Properly packing your work for safe delivery
  • Shipping considerations: weight, safety, speed, cost
  • Using a carrier vs. hand delivery
  • Shipping arrangements: insurance, shipping labels
  • Packing materials
  • What to do when the work arrives damaged
  • Re-packing instructions

LOCATION: This workshop will be hosted at Manifest Gallery in East Walnut Hills at 2727 Woodburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206 (not at the Drawing Center). The gallery will be in transition, in preparation for our next set of exhibitions, so participants will be able to see how the lessons discussed actually apply to real-world gallery conditions and contexts.
