statement

Since early childhood drawing has been the single most important form of self-expression for me. Using my two mediums of choice, graphite and colored pencil, I strive to create portraits which focus on the expressions of my subjects, and which bring a fresh original vision to traditional portraiture. My goal is to convey a sense of spontaneity using unique angles and compositions. Using pencil allows me to achieve a high level of detail; yet every mark presents a challenge. There is something magical in watching an image slowly emerge from a blank piece of paper, but that magic evolves into something even more powerful when the viewer connects with it.
