statement

The drawings from 'like milk & blood' are born out of the confluence of multiple sources. Nedham, fascinated by the mechanisms of history, especially the ability to revise, reorient and alter past events, explores correlations between multiple cultures and presents those interactions in her drawing practice.

Along with the featured dogs, we encounter fabric in many of Nedham's drawings, used as a connection to the innards of animals but also as a weapon, both defensively and offensively with the potential for cloaking and the well-documented transmission of disease.

Primarily concerned with the various taxonomic functions of history, Nedham's works on paper exhibit a technical proficiency and enamoured exploration of natural history‚s complex and overlapping structures.
