statement

My work examines the physical world through a consideration of ideas that structure our relationship with the natural environment.  Using a range of sculptural, installation, drawing and documentation techniques, my work relies on investigating the specific qualities of materials and objects combined with a rigorous studio process.  Ideas of manipulation, protection, exploration, and ownership within the territory of the personal and the natural are intriguing to me as a conceptual framework.  My work challenges one to consider the ambiguity of beauty and the uncertainty of intention in relation to our natural world.
